Celebrating Easter

Last Thursday was Brenna and Brooke's Easter Party at their preschool. All the children sat in a semicircle and sang the Easter songs they had learned. In the picture below, they are pretending to be an egg or something to that effect. Apparently Brenna wasn't feeling it at the moment.

After they were done singing, they had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Each parent brought a couple dozen eggs to contribute, and they were dispersed all over the lawn. Once the hunt began, I tried coaching the girls because they seemed hesitant about picking up eggs for some reason. Later I realized that they thought they were only allowed to pick up the eggs that WE brought. Fortunately, they came home with some eggs and got to do two more Easter egg hunts over the weekend. It's like Halloween all over again at our house with all this candy! Fortunately the girls tend to forget about their "stash" once it's up and out of sight:)

We were able to take the girls to the Easter Pageant Thursday evening, and I was so glad we went. The girls both sat on Kevin's lap (he was sitting on a chair and had a better view) and asked him questions non-stop the entire time. They also gasped every time a helicopter or plane flew overhead. I sat in the grass right in front of them and enjoyed being able to devote my full attention the pageant. Dallin, if you are wondering, was home asleep, and my visiting teacher was kind enough to stay at our house. The pageant was wonderful as always, and it was nice to be able to feel the spirit as we were approaching Easter weekend.

It's always fun getting the kiddos all gussied up for Easter Sunday. My MIL was kind enough to buy dresses and shoes for the girls and a tie for Dallin.

Nice church clothes for baby boys seem especially hard to come by, but the tie was the perfect touch!

Church was great, and we enjoyed two rounds of Easter dinners with our families afterwards. Talk about being stuffed:)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter:)
