August 7th was our 7th wedding anniversary. It was our golden anniversary per se (the seventh on the seventh), and it landed on a Sunday.
This year we really procrastinated when it came to making anniversary plans. There were already so many things going on that weekend, and it felt like an endless game of "not it" every time we brought it up. I attempted to set up some sort of romantic dinner in the MCC classroom that we met in, and he considered buying me that fancy ninja blender contraption on the infomercials. Unfortunately, neither came to fruition.
At the last minute, we settled on a dinner at Outback Steakhouse (somewhat of a tradition for us), followed by a trip to Target to look for new bedding.
Can you say romantic?
That's seven years for ya. Honestly, every year there seems to be more things to plan around when it comes time for our anniversary. There are more mouths to feed, more places to go, and more people to see. A lot of the time we are consumed by who and what we have created together, but I'm not complaining. It's great to look back on the years and see how far we have come. At the end of the day I'm glad to be living life side by side with the one I love, and who loves me best.
