Since San Diego is usually our one and only prized vacation of the year, we try to live it up, and fit in as many activities as possible. This year we made an itinerary or bucket list so to speak, so that we could do everything that we wanted before it was time to leave.
While it wasn't listed on the list, hanging out on the beach was an automatic must! Almost every day we were out on the sand soaking up rays, and building sand castles. The girls would dig holes and make "sand angels," which led to several baths each day.
It was hard to keep Brenna and Brooke away from the water. They loved wading in the shallow water, waiting for the waves to chase them to shore. Most of the time they won that game, but a few times they lost, and the waves would get the best of them. Even so, I think they could have played in the water for hours if we let them.

Dallin seemed a little under the weather the first few days. He did sit in the sand a few times, but didn't make it into the water this year.
Early in the morning, I took Brenna and Brooke in our PJ's and collected sea shells while the tide was out. We planned to glue them onto picture frames when we got home, which kept them motivated.

We've been in San Diego on Father's Day for the last few years, and this year all the men went Kayaking in La Jolla to celebrate. Kevin got to sport a fancy wet suit, which was a good thing considering how cold the water was at the time.

Slow Mo is pretty much a celebrity on Mission Beach. He roller blades up and down the boardwalk to his own tunes and in slow motion no less, thus earning the name "Slow Mo." As slow as he is, it's still hard to catch him. I've never been able to get my camera in time, but this year I got lucky. I heard a heard an old love song playing in the distance, grabbed my camera, aimed at our sliding glass door, and clicked just in time. I was so happy I finally caught him in action:)
